Provides assessment and therapeutic services to adult rehab and psychiatry and behav! ioral medicine patients. These services include, but are not limited to, extensive psychological evaluations, individual, group, family, and/or couples therapy, treatment planning and discharge. This position requires an interest and ability to work with patients who are undergoing psychiatric care and rehabilitation for functional deficits. It also requires an ability to work with patients experiencing chronic pain.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Ph.D. in Psychology from an APA accredited graduate school. West Virginia employees: M.A. or M.S. in psychology. Internship at APA accredited internship site and residency in approved clinical setting.
Experience: Two years clinical experience which may include the year of internship. The second year must be post-graduate and include supervision by a licensed Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist. Significant experience in play and play and family therapy to consult, supervis! e and teach Child Psychiatry Fellows. Successful candidate sho! uld have a good grasp of current literature, best practices and understand the demands of an academic setting.
Licensure,
certification, and/or
registration: Licensed in Virginia by the Board of Medicine as a clinical psychologist or by the Board of Psychology as a Psychologist (Clinical), or in West Virginia by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists required.
Other Minimum
Qualifications: Meets credentialing requirements. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with physicians and other health care providers. Must have a commitment to continuing education.
