Professional Qualifications:
The contract Licensed Clinical Social Worker is required to hold at a minimum the Master of Social Work degre! e and a valid license to legally practice as a social worker in one of the 50 states in the United States, or the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker shall be competent to treat adults, adolescents and children for crisis intervention and ongoing psychotherapy.
The contact employee shall have at least three (3) years of experience providing behavioral health services for patients and family members.
The contract employee shall be able to respond to cardiopulmonary arrests as appropriate and to arrange appropriate backup from the MTF clinical staff. At a minimum, contract employees shall have and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
Specific Tasks/Responsibilities - The Licensed Clinical Social Worker shall provide behavioral health services in the Integrated Tele-Health Services Virtual Clinic Program to include, but not limited to, the following:
Work as a! team member with other psychiatrist(s), social worker(s), psy! chologist(s), and behavior science specialist(s) to coordinate patient evaluation, treatment planning, and referrals. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will be credentialed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and privileged to practice as a social worker at several military treatment facilities (MTF) within the Military Healthcare System. Services will usually involve multidisciplinary interaction with licensed behavioral health providers at each MTF where services are provided. The range of services will equal any service an Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic provides.
Provide a comprehensive evaluation of patients and as appropriate their families according to the quality assurance guidelines of the Department of Psychiatry.
Complete the history of the present illness and review past histories and social work evaluations. Interview patients to obtain insight into their problems.
Make referrals for further diagnostic psychological or medical testing as needed! .
Provide individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions as necessary.
Provide crisis intervention and referral for psychiatric hospitalization.
Provide appropriate patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in accordance with acceptable Standards of Care.
Possess reasonable computer skills to facilitate functioning within multiple automated medical information systems.
Establish treatment plans for each patient.
Refer for long-term residential treatment if applicable.
As appropriate, communicate with patients, patients families and others to obtain personal and social information pertinent to the development of adjustment difficulty and to ascertain probable impact on the individual, unit, and community.
Prepare and maintain documentation, records and reports in accordance with MTF rules and regulations.
Provide in-service training to MTF staff during his/her regular scheduled hours. In-service training is infor! mal training to or by staff members to update treatment procedures. Pre! paration is at the discretion of the provider.
