Exciting opportunity to work with multidisciplinary team at the Fairfax Detoxification Center, in a community-based residential setting. Staff is being enhanced and expanded to provide integrated services, addressing substance use and mental health disorders as well as co-occurring primary care needs. Programming includes medical and clinically managed detoxification, acupuncture, and case management and referral services. The nursing supervisor is responsible for clinical, medical an! d administrative supervision of behavioral health nursing staf! f along with medical supervision of the non-medical staff. The nursing supervisor is also responsible for the following duties: Ensures 24-hour nursing coverage for the unit. Educates the multidisciplinary staff and consumers about medical issues, individually and in group and clinical sessions. Directly supervises the Behavioral Health Nurses. Updates medical client list. Manages communication withmedical contract beds at outside facilities. Interviews and makes hiring recommendations. Works as part of a treatment team that consists of substance abuse counselors, mental health counselors, nurses, psychiatrist, and physicians.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in nursing; plus three years of post-licensure experience as a nurse, in the specialty area of psychiatric mental health nursing, substance use disorders, i! ntellectual disabilities, or relevant clinical specialty.
Special
Requirements:
Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer. Shift work and weekend work are required.

Supervisory and extensive experience working with detoxification or medical/surgical and psychiatric conditions.
