Description

We are looking for a qualified Medical Science Liaison, Neuroscience (Alberta and British Columbia Territory) to join the Lundbeck Canada Scientific Affairs team as of September 10th, 2012. This position is temporary full-time for a 14 month period and the candidate should reside in Alberta or British Columbia. The employee will report to Mark Legault, Scientific Advisor and Medical Science Liaisons Manager, Neuroscience.

Your Position:
The core activities of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) are geared toward achieving peer-level relationship with key opinion leaders (KOL’s), regional opinion leaders (ROL’s) and some influential general practitioners. Activities include knowledge exchange around complex scientific issues one on one and during regional or national advisory board meetings, clinical trials (e.g. investigator initiated trials), advice, presentation support and others, with a particular focus on Lundbeck marketed products in Psychiatry and Neurology. Medico-marketing

  • Participate in Regional Advisory Boards and support National Advisory Board meetings to ensure knowledge transfer and scientific understanding on marketed products
  • Build relationships with national and regional opinion leaders who can communicate objective and balanced scientific evidence
  • Closely align and integrate scientific approach to the positioning and the marketing objectives of Lundbeck products
  • Increase reach and frequency of contact with key and regional opinion leaders and influencers across Canada
  • Interact with targeted health care professionals, professional associations and key stakeholders to facilitate dissemination of product related scientific information
  • Identify opportunities for engaging key opinion leaders and work with Scientific Affairs to invest in investigator initiated trials in accordance with Lundbeck business strategies
  • Leverage opinion leader advocates for product pipeline.
Scientific knowledge
  • Develop and maintain extensive and up to date knowledge of disease, its current and future treatment and the competitive landscape
  • Participate in scientific and medical symposia and conferences
Cross-functional teams
  • Provide ad-hoc support for critical business activities in other departments including Reg. Affairs
  • Work collaboratively with ICR Clinical Operations to identify potential clinical investigators for Phase II/III programs
  • Provide scientific training assistance when needed to further develop competencies of Lundbeck sales force
  • Support Market Access when needed for the development of credible scientific knowledge to payers to maximize the commercial potential of Lundbeck product portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with Lundbeck CHE Specialists
Position Qualifications:
  • PharmD, PhD in life sciences or MD
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Scientific expertise in the clinical pharmacology of the CNS
  • Ability to integrate complex scientific concepts in the context of the therapeutic environment
  • Knowledge of Rx&D Code of Practice and other regulations governing the pharma industry
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English and French
  • Excellent communication and speaker abilities
