Posting Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences is seeking candidates for a Clinical Research Project Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations for a NIH grant involving Internet-based assessment and treatment of drivers with Type 1 Diabetes. The incumbent recruits and screens research study participants, obtains consent documentation, and conducts participant orientation for the research project. Incumbent manages the collecting and tracking of research data, develops and maintains study web-site, coordinates activities with departmental faculty and staff, ensures study compliance with IRB and other federal agencies' protocols, purchases support materials for research project, and supervises student research assistants. In addition, the Project Coordinator performs literature searches, manuscript preparation, and article submission. This position is grant funded.
Position requires Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of one year of experience in a clinical research setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to independently resolve problems and work accurately with attention to detail. 2. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential. 3. Ability to collect data or samples and working knowledge of the theory and application of the science and instrumentation related to the trial. 4. Ability to plan and execute tasks or trials. 5. Ability to modify and develop trial procedures. 6. Ability to accurately interpret and report findings. 7. Ability to train others and direct their work. 8. Working knowledge of research ethics and protocols.
