Salem VA Medical Center (SVAMC)is seeking three full-time Hospitalists to join its staff of experienced physician and health professionals within the Department of Medicine, servicing Veterans in either a Ward or ICU setting depending on the assignment ultimately accepted. The individuals selected will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary and consultative Internal Medicine and Acute Care services, including diagnostic evaluations and initial assessments. Candidates are expected to be proficient and capable of performing basic procedu! res expected of any board eligible Internist, including lumbar! punctures, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and central venous catheters. In conjunction with Salem VAMCs academic mission Hospitalists are also expected to supervise students, residents, and fellows as necessary and to engage in furthering the education of these individuals through Grand Rounds and other available avenues for mentoring.
