Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Full Time Adult Psychiatrist is need! ed for an immediate need in Virginia . The schedule is Monday thru Friday 8a - 4:30pm, with rotating weekend call. The physician will see all adult patients, perform evaluations, consults and medication management. The site utilizes EMRs and is willing to train. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
