The Behavioral Services Unit is seeking a qualified Clinical Social Worker to provide direct clinical services to committed youth at the Culpeper Juvenile Correctional Center. The service needs of t! his population may include mental health, anger control, substance abuse and/or sex offender treatment. A significant focus for this position is to provide services to youth with mental health needs requiring individual, group and family psychotherapies in accordance with evidence based practices. Selected candidate will develop individualized treatment plans and/or other professionally written reports. The candidate will consult and collaborate with clinical peers, psychiatry, case management, correctional center staff, facility administrators, court service units, and outside agencies. Other duties may include training various staff in specific techniques related to mental health and participating in facility and/or agency meetings/committees.
Minimum Qualifications
The selected candidate will possess knowledge of theory based psychotherapy techniques with adolescents. Experience is required in providing individual, family and group treatment. The follow! ing skills are required: skills in working with a multidiscipl! inary treatment team as well as effective oral and written communication skills. Selected candidate must have the ability to function independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Desired candidate will possess a Master's degree in a counseling related field; experience working with adolescents in a correctional center, residential setting, or group home; Licensure in given discipline such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor or other related field.
