This community-oriented "Psychiatrist or Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner " will work on an interdisciplinary outpatient team. The Div! ision has a recovery and best practice oriented mission, and the psychiatrist/nurse practitioner will have the opportunity to be a part of projects which are at the forefront of mental health service delivery.
This is an hourly contract position with a minimum of 8 hours weekly required. The psychiatrist/nurse practitioner will work closely with the treatment team to develop and implement interdisciplinary, recovery focused treatment. The position entails the following work expectations: Diagnostic psychiatric evaluations; Ongoing psychiatric management, including psychopharmacologic treatment, appropriate forms of psychotherapeutic support, and as needed crisis intervention in collaboration with the treatment team; Assuring comprehensive healthcare needs are identified and treated and the people served are educated about their illness and given health management information and techniques; Team consultation and clinical supervision, and participation in interdisci! plinary treatment planning meetings; Documentation of clinical! care in the electronic clinical record and Backup physician/ nurse practitioner coverage as needed to Division outpatient services.

Selection Criteria:
- Minimum : M.D. from an accredited Medical school and graduation from an Accredited Residency Program in Psychiatry
- OR, Master of Science in Nursing, ANCC certification as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Psychiatrist
Board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; Experience in an outpatient community setting working intensively with patients with serious mental illness and substance abuse; Multid! isciplinary team experience.
Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certified;
Experience in an outpatient community setting working intensively with patients with serious mental illness and substance abuse;
Multidisciplinary team experience.
Special Requirements:
Must be licensed (or licensable) to practice medicine in the State of Virginia and be eligible to take examination of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and must have a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license.
