Help the community by developing an Addictions/ Pain Management practice in Virginia.
Surgical practice in Central Virginia seeking someone with a unique skill set/ mind set to help patients break the cycle of addiction, but also help, and safely manage some patients who are truly in pain and need to manage meds, and guide patients to a successful, and healthy pain management program. To start, though not long term, you would need to count pills, do acute urine screens, be willing to refer to psycho-social servi! ces ( unless you are a Psychiatrist) , etc. The full gamut. On! ce the program matures, a PA would handle those front line responsibilities freeing you to focus on treatment. The position would be open to Psychiatrists, Anesthesiologists, Physiatrists, or any other addictions, or pain fellowship trained specialty.
Based in Central Virginia at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, yet only a few hours’ drive to the ocean, or Washington, DC. It is also close to Charlottesville home of University of Virginia. It has a core population of 75,000 with a draw area of 250,000. It is the home of six colleges. It is a pleasant family values oriented community.
