The Job
The purpose of the Certified Accountant is to bring in-house the activities performed by the external Certified Accountant and be responsible for the general accounting within ALTIDO Portugal. This exciting and challenging new role would suit candidates who are keen to manage tight financial control and to enable strategic growth of the company. You will be the key financially focused driver within a small management team undertaking management account reporting monthly and annually, and budgeting procedures. You will need to have strong communication skills with all levels of staff.
As a Certified Accountant, you will be responsible for the following activities:
Recurring accounting work
- Preparation of the Financial Statements monthly
- Management of the bookkeeping of accounting
- Accounting in accordance with regulations applicable under the SNC
- Monitor audits and tax inspection
- Management of monthly bank reconciliation
- Prepare cashflow forecasts
- Management of salaries and issuance of their receipts
- Preparation and submission of the social security remuneration statement
- Salary processing and issuance of salary receipts
- Preparation of maps for salary payments
- Communication of the initiation, amendment and termination of employment links to Social Security and the Authority for working conditions
- Calculation of the payments payable in accordance with the applicable labour legislation, including overtime, compensation and others
Recurring work of taxation
- Preparation and submission of the periodic VAT declaration
- Review and clearance of withholding retentions related to IRS;
- Revision and clearance of stamp duty;
End-of-year statements
- Financial statements and notes to accounts;
- Issuance of the individual IRS Declaration;
- IRC Model 22 Declaration;
- Preparation and submission of the Model 10
- IES - Simplified Business Information for IRC, IRS and VAT purposes;
- Preparation and submission of the Single report
- Tax Dossier
Direct reports
You will be responsible for managing a small finance team in Lisbon, Portugal and will also have support from our central office in Varna, Bulgaria.
Job requirements
Mandatory
- Certified Accountant
- 3 years experience in accounting functions, with contact with international branches
Desirable
- Good knowledge of financial and analytical accounting;
- Knowledge of VAT
- Fluent English speaker
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Responsible, organised and good attention to detail
- Experience working with Oracle Netsuite
