Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is a global business unit within the Marine Systems division, with people located in different locations such as Norway, Poland, UK, France, Finland and China. The business unit has end-to-end responsibility from Sales through to commissioning of completed systems.
Wärtsilä Gas Solutions offers systems and solutions related a number of oil & within the gas segments. The scope includes marine LNG and LPG cargo systems, fuel gas systems for marine vessels, onshore gas terminals and biogas systems.
For our summer internship programme, we’re looking for trainees to our four disciplines, you can decide to what positions you are most interested in:
Your responsibilities as Electrical & Automation Intern
- Provide support in development of Electrical & Automation documentation of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions deliveries
- Provide support in modularization and standardization of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions products
- Expand marine electrical engineering and marine electrical and automation engineering knowledge
- Learn how to understand engineering documentation for marine installations
- Learn how to develop electrical documentation
Your responsibilities as Design Intern
- Provide support in development of 3D modelling related to Gas Cargo Handling System layouts:
- Process equipment and piping
- Arrangement of foundations and supports
- Module steel framework
- Provide support for documentation package preparations of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions deliveries:
- General arrangements
- Plot plans
- Assembly drawings and work instructions
- Material list for piping and structural items
- Technical sketching and drafting
- Centre of Gravity calculations
Your responsibilities as Mechanical Intern
- Provide support in development of project documentation of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions deliveries
- Learn about various mechanical equipment (rotating and static) used on Wärtsilä Gas Solutions deliveries
- Expand marine engineering knowledge (incl. marine rules and regulations knowledge)
- Learn how to understand engineering documentation for marine installations
Your responsibilities as Process Intern
- Provide support in development of process documentation of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions deliveries
- Learn about PFDs, PIDs, Control and Operating philosophies
- Learn about process simulations (Aspen Hysys), process calculations and dimensioning of equipment for gas plants used on Wärtsilä Gas Solutions deliveries
- Expand marine engineering knowledge (incl. marine rules and regulations knowledge)
- Learn how to understand engineering documentation for marine installations
Our requirements
- Last year student or recent graduate of studies directly connected with relevant internship
- Availability for at least 4 days each week from July 2023 until end of September 2023 in our office in Gdynia
- Fluency in Polish and English, both written and spoken
- Good Microsoft 365 skills (Excel, Teams)
- Proactive mindset
- Can-do attitude
