Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas transmission and distribution operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
The Gas Transportation Scheduler is a Career-Level job who undertakes the daily activities of PG&E's gas business and handles moderately complex customer inquiries. The Gas Transportation Scheduler also researches and resolves nomination discrepancies, system problems, and pipeline allocation issues. This job also requires the incumbent to participate on teams to develop process improvements. Schedulers work with customers, gas control, wholesale marketing & business development, and interconnecting pipelines to ensure nominations are entered and processed by deadlines.
Schedulers work extensively with the Gas Transaction System (GTS) processing customers' daily gas nominations and providing scheduled data for gas transportation on and off PG&E's pipeline system.
The Gas Scheduling team provides extended work coverage 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This is accomplished by utilizing two 10-hour shifts - one which begins at 6:00 a.m. and the other at 10:30 a.m. The working environment is dynamic with multiple daily scheduling time limits. It requires that an individual be motivated and self-directing with a talent for communicating and interacting with internal and external customers.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Incumbent should expect to travel to San Ramon, CA for projects, meetings, trainings, etc.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $40.87 to $61.06.

Requires a minimum of 18 months gas scheduling experience or experience in the gas or pipeline industry.
Two years of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

Responsibilities
- Undertakes the daily activities of PG&E’s gas business.
- Handles moderately complex customer inquiries.
- Researches and resolves nomination discrepancies, system problems, and pipeline allocation issues.
- Participates on teams to develop process improvements or system enhancements.
- Utilizes the GTS System, which processes customers’ daily gas nominations and provides scheduled data for gas transportation on and off PG&E’s pipeline system.
- Reviews and analyzes nominations in a timely manner and ensures results are in compliance with policies and tariffs.
- Identifies and resolves nomination discrepancies and system problems.
- Reviews all pipeline allocations and resolves values that are out of balance or appear unreasonable.
- Issues daily reports on confirmed and scheduled volumes.
- Manages customer concerns, answers questions, and educates customers regarding nomination and scheduling processes utilizing the GTS system.
- Cultivates professional relationships with customers and interconnecting pipelines.
- Develops and communicates ideas on process improvements with team members and management.
- Follows through with system possibilities and potential solutions.
- Promotes teamwork and encourage good safety practices.
- Organizes accurate processing of scheduled gas nomination records to ensure correct billing statements.
