Description: University of Virginia is presently looking of CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR right now, this career will be ordered in Virginia. The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences, Neurobiological Studies Division is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate NIH funded clinical trials to develop medications for the treatment of different types of addictions. The main responsibilities include: maintaining regulatory documents, creating and maintaining a database for all study data, reporting to IRB and FDA and tracking compliance, coordinating subject recruitment and scheduling, ordering medications and supplies, performing clinical assessments on subjects, and processing lab specimens for shipment. This position will be located in the Charlottesville Northfork Research Park in the UVA Center for Addiction Research and Education (CARE) Clinic as well as a clinical site in Northern Virginia.

Position requires Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Psychology or other related field with a minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Access to personal transportation is required in order to support the UVA CARE Clinics in Charlottesville and Northern Virginia (travel once or twice per week).

Minimum Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to work with human subjects, specifically those with alcohol and drug disorders.

2. Superior organizational skills.

3. Ability to communicate effectively.

4. Working knowledge of the theory, ethics, and application of the biological sciences and instrumentation related to field of assignment.

5. Ability to plan and execute tasks.

6. Ability to modify and develop laboratory procedures.

7. Ability to train and supervise others.

8. Working knowledge of managing clinical research protocols.

9. Access to personal transportation to support the UVA CARE Clinics in Charlottesville and Northern Virginia (travel once or twice per week).

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
Some - up to 4 years

Kind of Required Experience:
At least 1 year in a clinical laboratory setting.

Required Degree/Training:
Required License or Certification:
Required Computer Applications:
MS Office (including Word, Excel) and SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Sciences)

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of database development.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Experience:
Some - up to 4 years

Kind of Preferred Experience:
At least 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting.

Preferred Degree/Training:
B.S. or B.A. in Public Health, Psychology or other related field

Preferred License or Certification:
Certified Clinical Research Coordinator or Certified Clinical Research Associate.
