REGISTERED NURSE (BHN CLINICIAN/CASE MANAGER)

Location: Fairfax, Virginia

Description: Fairfax County Government is presently looking of REGISTERED NURSE (BHN CLINICIAN/CASE MANAGER) right now, this career will be presented in Virginia. Exciting opportunity to work with our multidisciplinary team at the Fairfax Detoxification Center, in our client centered, community-based residential setting. We provide integrated services, addressing substance use and mental health disorders as well as co-occurring primary care needs. Programming includes medical and clinically managed detoxification, acupuncture, and case management and referral services. Nursing staff responsibilities: Provides direct nursing services, including substance abuse, psychiatric and physical nursing assessments; administers medication; addresses acute medical issues and collaborating with area hospitals. Monitors the detoxification process and intervenes as necessary per medical protocols. Educates the multidisciplinary staff and consumers about medical issues, individually and in group and clinical sessions. Must be able to work as part of a treatment team that consists of substance abuse counselors, case managers, nurses, psychiatrist, and physicians.

Minimum

Qualifications:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nursing; plus two years of post-licensure experience as a nurse, in the specialty area of psychiatric mental health nursing, substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities, or relevant clinical specialty; or graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree in nursing; plus four years of post-licensure experience as a nurse in the specialty area of psychiatric mental health nursing, substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities, or relevant clinical specialty.

Special

Requirements:
Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry to the satisfaction of the employer. Shift work and weekend a must.

Preferred

Qualifications:
Extensive experience working with detoxification or medical/surgical and psychiatric conditions.
