The Ambulatory Surgery PACU department is currently recruiting for an hourly Care Partner. Briefly state the chief objective of this position and age group(s) to be served (if applicable) To provide direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the RN or licensed independent practitioner. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for cont! inued employment including CPR, etc AHA BLS HCP Certification ! or equivalent Level and type of experience PREFERRED Acute care experience as a nursing assistant or aide experience Education/training REQUIRED Completion of state recognized CNA program; or Completion of first semester junior year in an accredited BSN program dependent upon school curriculum. VCU/MCV BSN students - completion of sophomore year, Nursing 201, 202, 261. Accredited Associate Degree and Diploma programs - completion of first year or a minimum of two semesters of basic nursing courses. Specialty areas e.g. pediatrics, women's health, psychiatry may require completion of a clinical rotation in that area; or Completion of EMT program; or Completion of medical assistant program Describe independent action(s) required Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guida! nce from supervisor: time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs. Describe supervisory responsibilities (if applicable) N/A Additional position requirements such as shift rotations, weekends, environment, etc Care Partners work all three shifts, weekends and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
