Full time position to join 4 other full time BC IM in-patient physicians working at this 76 bed facility located on th! e Chesapeake Bay . This area provides a relaxed pace of life within easy reach of metropolitan areas.
Full range of specialty services including orthopedics, urology, general surgery, ophthalmology, non-invasive cardiology, psychiatry, and gynecology. The ER is staffed 24/7 by boarded physicians, well trained in emergency medicine. Their radiology department is equipped with an MRI, 16 slice CT scanner, vascular/general ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and PACS. They also support an active outpatient oncology clinic staffed by VCU oncologists. The nursing and support staff is professional, well trained and friendly.
This in-patient program has been in existence since 1992. There are four now and growing to five. There is no-call. The average number of admissions and consults is 2 per 24 hours. The average census per physician is 6-8 patients, but varies with the seasons. They perform outpatient and inpatient stress tests, outpatient pre-operative consults, an! d most other general internal medicine procedures.
Co! mpetitive salary and bonus plan. Paid malpractice, licensure fees, CME allowance, Health, Dental, Life, and LTD insurance, 403B retirement plan with 3% employer match and much more detailed in the Employment Agreement. 25 paid days off, plus scheduled long weekends off and 1 week CME per year.
The area is fantastic. We visit this client frequently and frankly we want to move there! The area must be seen as a whole for the communities work more like suburbs of one another. Housing here is out of this world and yes with patience you can find great deals (we found one as a rental right on the water with a dock for 1,200 per month!). Schools are excellent and shopping is very good (for power shoppers Richmond and Norfolk are just an hour’s drive away and DC is three hours away). The dining here is fantastic! What is best here is the pace of life, I met with the physicians and they enjoy a busy practice and it affords them time to enjoy all of the areas amenities.
The hospital is small but state-of-the-art with EMR and a host of services for both patient and physician provider. To demonstrate to you the areas economy Medicaid is only 3% of its payor source! This place does offer you the best of everything, great practice life and a great life!
