Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health, founded in 1986, is an 83 bed facility within the city of Norfolk, Virginia. Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health offers comprehensive mental health programs to the state of Virginia. We provide psychiatrically and medically managed acute and residential treatment for children and adolescents with significant impairments in their social and emotional development. We provide quality care to children and adolescents in need using quality, evidence based practice treatments. We are accredited by The Joint Commi! ssion (TJC), and are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia ! and The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health currently has a Licensed Therapist position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: 1. Be responsible for the delivering psychotherapy services in individual, group and family settings to patients and families to resolve emotional, behavioral, or interpersonal problems. 2. Directs and provides case management services. 3. Serves as an active member of the clinical team to provide chemical dependency treatment. 4. Develops measurable goals and objectives for patients based on established program philosophy and patient needs. 5. Maintains high quality documentation of all therapy services consistent with facility policies. 6. Assesses patients' needs regularly and assists in the updating of the Individualized Service Plan. 7. Provide weekly supervision to unlicensed therapists.
The following are the job requirements ! for the LICENSED THERAPIST position: 1. Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Psychiatrist in Commonwealth of Virginia preferred. Candidates approved for supervision by the Virginia Board of Health Professionals will be considered. 2. Current CSAC for the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred. 3. Must have two or more years experience in a mental health setting working with children and/or adolescents. 4. Must possess knowledge of major aspects of acute and/or residential treatment, program development, aftercare, the Joint Commission standards, State standards and regulations and related issues. 5. A strong customer and patient focus.
