Sentara Healthcare is currently recruiting for a Vice President of Behavioral Health Services to lead key constituents in the development, coordination and growth of Beha! vioral Health Services in Hampton Roads.
Education: Master's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or MD/DO with Psychiatry Residency required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Behavioral Health experience in a free-standing or hospital based facility or system * Experience in the development of long range strategic plans across matrixes * Proven ability to develop strong/aligned physician relationships and integrate across unique and diverse markets * Experience conducting transformation initiatives across a key service line, with history of collaborating with senior leaders and physicians to achieve desired changes * Proven experience in building and managing a profitable multi-site and multi-service business * Strong orientation toward client service, quality improvement, team building, and profitability * High energy level and ability to respond to the challenges of managing an operation in a changing and ambiguous environment * Experience in deve! loping long range strategic plans across a highly-matrixed sys! tem * Proven ability to balance local and system needs * Past success in physician alignment and integration efforts across unique and diverse market places * Proven track record of business development, with a focus on start-up organizations * Well-honed intuition to understand and quickly identify key market players and issues to be addressed * Exudes a 'patient centric' mindset * Provides examples of timely completion/execution and follow through of deliverables to constituents on large and complex projects * Successful leader who takes ownership of financial, operational, service, clinical and strategic responsibilities * Calm, collaborative leader who weighs all perspectives before making final decisions and thus is able to influence needed behavioral changes * A calculated risk taker who has proven to develop creative opportunities to align incentives with honesty and forthright communication
