Seeking board certified Psychiatrist, with sub-certification in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine. The candidate would joi! n a newly established clinical addictions research program at Virginia Commonwealth University under the direction of F. Gerard Moeller, M.D. This program combines MR brain imaging, clinical trials, and behavioral laboratory studies of patients with addictions in over 8,000 square feet of research-dedicated space and a 3T research dedicated MRI scanner. Salary commensurate with academic rank.
Qualifications:
*
Expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging research studies including fMRI, Dynamic Causal Modeling, Arterial Spin Label and gadolinium perfusion, and Diffusion Tensor Imaging, as evidenced by several publications and NIH grant support in these areas.

Experience in analyzing neuroimaging data using SPM, FSL, TBSS, SAS, and SPSS.

Experience as principal investigator in pharmaceutical drug trials, and principal investigator on NIH RO1 and Veterans Administrat! ion Merit Review grants.

A track record of acad! emic excellence as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and NIH grant support commensurate with the academic rank of Professor.

Faculty member will be required to have a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise in the department.

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Strongly Preferred:

Experience in teaching of brain imaging to junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, residents, and medical students, as evidenced by mentoring of trainees in NIH training grants.

Experience in Linux and SUN UNIX system administration and ethernet networking. Experience in UNIX shell-script, Matlab, IDL, E-Prime, Visual Basic, C, and C++ programming languages.
Additionally, the candidate should have a track record of working with a multidisciplinary research team, and have the ability to develop clinical behavioral therapy initiatives in collaboration with other health professionals.
