Description: Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters is at present recruited Clinical/Forensic Psychologist Supervisor right now, this position will be settled in Virginia. Reports to the department leadership, and is overall responsible for the daily planning, work scheduling, coordination, and o! perational performance of the mental health team. Oversees long-term psychotherapy The program. Forensic/Clinical Psychologist Supervisor is expected to independently carry out assigned responsibilities but seeks guidance from the director and/or upper management given unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation of policy/practice or allocation of funds to resolve. Provides leadership and guidance to assigned mental health staff to include but not limited to Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Forensic/Clinical Psychologists, Post-Doctoral Resident in Forensic/Clinical Psychology, graduate level Social Work Students. Oversees mental health services, to include, but are not limited to: monitoring research literature on child maltreatment to ensure the CAP provides best practice services to child victims; conducting weekly staffing of child maltreatment cases; timely completion of performance evaluations and administration for staff; provides clinical and fore! nsic training and ongoing education to staff; presents child m! ental health educational material to professional and the community; and maintains a clinical caseload as needed. Provides support to Director by participating and/or serving as a subject matter expert on various boards and committees within the community as needed. Utilizes forensically acceptable, psychometrically sound instruments to provide analysis of the intentions, motivations, and personality characteristics and parenting capabilities of maltreating parents and non-offending caregivers. Provides consultation to attorneys, court system, social services, and law enforcement, as necessary.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Professional knowledge of areas of responsibility in order to direct planning and implementation at a level normally acquired through completion of a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Specialized post-graduate forensic training and certificate from state-certified forensic training program at Institute of Law , Psychiatry and Pub! lic Policy is desirable. Minimum of 2 years experience in supervisory capacity. Must be able to plan, supervise and establish a professional working environment within areas of responsibility. Besides managerial activities, must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to direct and assign work to subordinates, explain hospital and department policies and procedures and communicate effectively with other professionals.
